Personal Training Leave can help an employee (or former employee) on a fixed-term contract to :
• attain a superior level of qualification,
• change activity or profession,
• widen their knowledge.
Conditions :
For employees on a fixed-term contract :
You must be able to prove 24 months, consecutive or not, of professional activity, including 4 under a fixed term contract, during the previous 5 years, or 6 months during the 22 months previous to your last working contract.
For employees on a long term contract :
You must be able to prove 24 months, consecutive or not, of paid employment in a company or organisation, including 1 year in your current place of employment.
The steps to complete :
4 months before :
Your current employer must provide approval for your absence (2 months before, only for a course lasting less than 6 months, or continuous study if the latter takes place on a part-time basis).
Prior to the start of the training course :
You must send a request for payment accompanied by the approval of absence to the joint funding party who will receive your employer's contribution towards the cost of your Personal Training Leave.
Payment by the organisation :
The joint funding party covers all or part of the costs pertaining to Personal Training Leave according to the defined priorities and criteria. Your employer will pay remuneration and cover all the usual social security contributions due when you work in your usual post.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CIF ?
Within the context of the CIF, training courses must respect the following criteria :
Duration : In general between 12 and 24 weeks, maximum allowance: 1, 200 hours (8 weeks when covered by the FAFTT)
Rhythm : 30 hours per week when covered on a full-time basis
Level : Beginner to Advanced

The OPACIFs generally anticipate co-funding ranging from 5% to 20% of the training costs. In the case of training abroad, accommodation and transport costs will be covered at the learner's own expense.
